Community Tech Centre
The heart of the Young Women Leadership Programme. Designed as a safe, accessible and participatory learning space, it is where adolescent girls and young women build digital skills alongside feminist leadership, critical thinking and personal agency.
Rather than traditional classrooms, Tech Centres are spaces where facilitators and participants learn together through dialogue, collective reflection and practical engagement.
Beyond structured sessions, the centres become community spaces where young women build relationships, organise activities, support one another and develop the confidence to lead.
Community Jugaad Lab
The Jugaad Lab introduces younger girls to STEM through curiosity, creativity and experimentation. Inspired by the idea of jugaad — creative problem-solving using available resources — the labs encourage girls to explore scientific concepts through hands-on projects that complement the school curriculum.
Learning is rooted in making, questioning and collaboration rather than memorisation, helping girls build confidence in STEM from an early age while challenging the belief that science and technology are "not for girls".
Girls' Makerspace
The Makerspace builds on the foundations of the Jugaad Lab, giving older girls opportunities to deepen their technical skills through design, experimentation and innovation. Participants work with tools, materials and digital technologies to prototype ideas, solve community challenges and explore pathways into STEM education and careers.
It represents FAT's commitment to creating environments where girls move beyond consuming technology to designing, building and creating with it.
Community Open Houses
Open Houses create opportunities for girls and young women to share their learning with families, neighbours, local institutions and community leaders. Through exhibitions, demonstrations, conversations and collaborative activities, participants showcase projects while building wider community understanding and support.
They also strengthen relationships between participants, families and the broader community, creating shared ownership of the learning spaces and celebrating the achievements of girls and young women.
Community Learning Portal
The Community Learning Portal (CLP) extends FAT's learning beyond physical spaces, serving as a central digital platform for participants, facilitators, alumni and partners. Every participant enrolled in a FAT programme is registered on the portal, where they access course materials, assignments and learning resources throughout their journey.
As FAT expands its community-led model, the CLP enables consistent programme delivery across locations — strengthening curriculum access, learning continuity, participant monitoring and knowledge sharing on a single platform.
