Who are we?
Feminist Approach to Technology (FAT) is a participatory, community-led organization governed through collective leadership, working with girls and young women from socio-economically disadvantaged and marginalized communities in India since 2008.
Our approach centers on building collective leadership among adolescent girls and young women — empowering them to access, use, create and make decisions in STEM, so they gain agency over their lives and emerge as leaders who drive social change within their communities.
In many organizations, participants in programmes are referred to as beneficiaries. At FAT, we use the word participants — because they are active contributors, learners and leaders.

Our three programmes bring together feminist leadership, technology and STEM education through a long-term learning journey that grows with participants — supporting them at different stages of their lives.
Girls in STEM
Community Jugaad Labs where girls experiment, ask questions and solve real problems — dismantling the belief that science is "not for girls".

Community Tech Centres where digital skills, feminist perspectives and leadership grow side by side.
